Founded in 1983 by renowned producer Kai Andersen (Dr Kai) and tucked away in the Norwegian town of Halden, Athletic Sound is located in an 18th century school building in the heart of the town.

Athletic Sound is a studio that nurtures the analogue values, and welcome the modern recording era. We just opened our brand new control room for our clients, built after the highest specifications for professional recording studios. We built our new control room around a SSL 4000G, a 40channel console supported by a large number of new and vintage equipment. Producers and artists all love working here (you can see what they say), the environment is relaxing and the sound created and captured is truly unique.

We also offer overnight stay in our studio apartment, located 125 meters from the studio entrance, that can accommodate up to 8 people.
